Since her earliest days working in her family’s Mendocino vineyards, Kathryn Hall dreamed of creating a destination where exceptional wines, inspiring art, and remarkable architecture could coexist. Today, Kathryn and Craig Hall have realized that vision, establishing one of Napa Valley’s most distinctive wine experiences—where more than 30 years of winemaking excellence and innovation meet contemporary design to celebrate life and inspire the senses.
In 2003, the Halls acquired the historic Bergfeld Winery in St. Helena and reopened it as HALL St. Helena. With a history spanning more than 150 years, the property was once home to the Napa Valley Co-Op, which produced nearly 40% of the region’s wines. In 2013, the Hall family completed the meticulous restoration of the original 1885 Bergfeld Winery, seamlessly blending heritage and innovation with California’s first LEED® Gold Certified winery, a striking Visitor Center, and a state-of-the-art gravity-flow winemaking facility.
Complementing the St. Helena estate is HALL Rutherford, acquired in 1995 and opened to the public in 2005. Nestled among the renowned Sacrashe Vineyard in the Rutherford hills, the estate is dedicated to crafting limited-production and single-vineyard wines. Together, HALL’s St. Helena and Rutherford properties offer unforgettable wine country experiences, featuring award-winning wines, world-class contemporary art, and breathtaking Napa Valley views.
